'Escape to Paradise' by Eric Paice

The planet Medusa lies in the Proxima Centauri star system, its civilisation ruled by the female members of its society; these beautiful women enjoy a life of luxury and power, while the men are resigned to carry out menial tasks and domestic chores. However, when a burning comet passes too close to the planet, Medusa is shifted off its axis and sent hurtling through space; the surface of the planet is rendered inhospitable, forcing the Medusans to set about building huge underground cities in which to take refuge. Many years later, Medusa eventually comes to settle outside Earth’s solar system. Learning of a world where males are considered equal to females, two men - Adam and Shem - decide to steal the spaceship belonging to Adam’s mistress, Supreme Councillor Flavia, and together they escape to utopia…
